Hi! Would you like me to fold your story? 🤲

And what do I mean by that? Well, folding your story is understanding a story that has a meaning for you or for someone you know and transforming it into a unique origami design on paper. Let's say it is to make a design that is more personalized and different from what you can purchase directly in the online store. 😉

So what is my job? My job is to accompany you and understand what you want to capture, find the shapes that best fit your idea, do tests, check their scale, advise you on the type of paper and materials and make the final design by hand in addition to your own packaging that will always be as if it were for a gift. 🎁

All this means that fully custom orders (that is, of shapes or products that do not appear in this online store) have their own way of being carried out. I tell you how:

1. Contact: Send me a message (either through this contact form, by email to hola@papirogems.com or by Direct Message from Instagram) and tell me a little bit about that story that you would like me to fold or if you have a shape in mind. It would also be nice if you could tell me when you need the order to arrive (keep in mind that for personalized orders it is advisable that you contact me 3-2 weeks in advance). 📆

2. Research: With all the information you tell me, I do a search for the possible shapes, thinking about the scale and size they may have (some very complex figures are very difficult to fold into very small figures, for example) and I show them to you so you can tell me which one you like best. 🔎

3. Budget: Depending on the origami figure (s) you have chosen, I would prepare an estimated budget of the maximum price it could cost, excluding shipping. If it takes less than the estimated time, the final price would be reduced. To give you an idea, the personalized orders prices are more or less between 1.4 or 2 times the price of those on the web (it depends on the complexity of the design and the talk time we have). 📋

4. Before starting to work: If you agree with that maximum budget, before starting to work I would need you to transfer me half of that budget. A quarter of that budget would not be refundable to compensate for the time worked if in the end the order doesn't come out (this has not happened to me yet but I think it is necessary to take it into consideration).

5. Sketches: I would make some testing to calculate the final size and I would make a graphic sketch for you so that you can approve its size. ✂️

6. Last details: With the approval of the size, it would be the time to choose the final materials from which I can advise you if you need it, although the final decision is entirely up to you.

7. Final creation of your order: And finally I would create the final design, take photos and send them to you so that you can check it before shipment. Before shipment, the rest of the price (calculated with the timed time) and shipping costs would be paid. 💃

Perhaps these points do not occur in this same order or there is some part that we skip, but more or less that would be the order. If, for example, changes arise that go beyond the estimated time, I would let you know and we would add an extra to the final budget.

Please keep a couple of things in mind:

1. The origami figures in these designs mostly come from traditional origami diagrams and I don't usually make them up myself. So it is possible that I will do them again for other products but I assure you that your order will always be unique and different since handmade products are never the same. ✨

2. Being a personalized product requires a time of conversation and research that is reflected in the final price. And as I mentioned before, it is possible that these figures can be folded into another product and may have a different price than the one agreed in the budget. This is because of that extra conversation time that I always measure with a timer to keep the budget right. To compensate for this cost, custom orders have a lower hourly price than the creation of other products. 🎈

3. I will probably take photos of your order to show it on social media or other media. If for some personal reason you would rather not to show them publicly, please let me know before delivery. 📸

When we are talking about the order, I will ask you if you agree with these conditions and I will send you the link on this page so that you can give me your agreement or not.

¡Hola! ¿Te gustaría que doblara tu historia? 🤲

¿Y qué quiero decir con eso? Pues doblar tu historia sería interpretar una historia que tenga un significado para ti o para una persona que conozcas y transformarla en diseño de origami en papel. Digamos que es hacer un diseño diferente y más personalizado que los que puedes comprar directamente en la tienda online. 😉

Entonces, ¿cuál es mi trabajo? Mi trabajo es el de acompañarte y entender eso que quieres plasmar, encontrar las figuras que puedan encajar mejor con tu idea, hacer pruebas, comprobar su escala, aconsejarte sobre el tipo de papel y materiales y hacer a mano el diseño final además de su propio envoltorio que siempre será como si fuera para un regalo. 🎁

Todo esto hace que los encargos totalmente personalizados (es decir, de figuras o productos que no aparezcan en la tienda online) tengan su propia forma de realizarse. Te cuento cómo:

1. Contacto: Envíame un mensaje con toda la confianza del mundo y sin ningún compromiso (bien sea a través del formulario de contacto, por correo electrónico a hola@papirogems.com o por Mensaje Directo de Instagram) y cuéntame un poco sobre esa historia que te gustaría plegar o si tienes pensada alguna figura. También estaría bien que me dijeras para cuándo necesitas que llegue el encargo (ten en cuenta que para encargos personalizados es aconsejable que me contactes con unas 3-2 semanas por adelantado). 📆

2. Investigación: Con toda la información que me cuentes, hago una búsqueda de las posibles figuras, pensando en la escala y tamaño que puedan tener (algunas figuras muy complejas es muy complicado doblarlas en figuras muy pequeñas, por ejemplo) y te las enseño para que me digas cuáles te gustan más. 🔎

3. Presupuesto: Según la o las figuras de origami que hayas escogido, prepararía un presupuesto estimado del precio máximo que podría costar sin incluir envío. Si tardo menos del tiempo estimado, el precio final se reduciría. Para que te hagas una idea, el precio de encargos personalizados es más o menos entre 1,4 a 2 veces el precio de los de la web (depende de la complejidad del diseño y del tiempo de conversación que tengamos). 📋

4. Antes de empezar a trabajar: Si estás de acuerdo con ese presupuesto máximo, antes de empezar a trabajar te pediría que abonaras la mitad de ese presupuesto. Un cuarto de ese presupuesto no sería reembolsable para compensar el tiempo trabajado si es que al final no saliera el encargo (esto no me ha ocurrido aún pero creo que es necesario tenerlo en cuenta).

5. Esquemas: Haría pruebas para poder calcular el tamaño final y te haría un esquema gráfico para que puedas dar el visto bueno al tamaño. ✂️

6. Últimos detalles: Con el visto bueno del tamaño, tocaría escoger los materiales finales de los que te puedo aconsejar si lo necesitas aunque la decisión final depende de ti totalmente.

7. Creación final de tu encargo: Y finalmente crearía el diseño final, le haría fotos y te las mandaría para que puedas comprobar cómo es la pieza antes del envío. Antes del envío se abonaría el resto del precio calculado con el tiempo cronometrado y los gastos de envío. 💃

Tal vez estos puntos no ocurran en ese orden o hay alguna parte que nos la saltemos, pero más o menos ese sería el orden. Si por ejemplo surgen cambios que se salen del tiempo estimado, te lo haría saber y añadiríamos un extra al presupuesto final.

Por favor, ten en cuenta algunas cosas:

1. Las figuras de origami de estos diseños en su mayoría provienen de esquemas del origami tradicional y no me las suelo inventar yo. Por lo que es posible que las vuelva a hacer para otros productos pero te aseguro que tu encargo siempre será único y diferente ya que al hacer el encargo a mano no hay dos figuras iguales. ✨

2. Al ser un producto personalizado requiere de un tiempo de conversación y de investigación que se ve reflejado en el precio final. Y como te comentaba antes, es posible que estas figuras puedan ser dobladas en otro producto y tal vez tengan un precio diferente al acordado en el presupuesto. Esto se debe a ese tiempo extra de conversación que siempre cronometro para que el presupuesto sea justo. Para compensar ese coste, los encargos personalizados tienen un precio hora menor que el de creación de otros productos. 🎈

3. Es muy probable que haga fotos de tu encargo para poder enseñarlo en redes sociales o por otro medio. Si por algún motivo muy personal no quisieras que tu encargo apareciera públicamente, por favor házmelo saber antes de la entrega del mismo. 📸
